Captive breeding has happened but is seldom seen. One of the reasons could be that most imported animals are males, and it is very hard to tell the diference. Males are bigger and has a more bulky head and a shorter body than then females. Copulations can take place at all times and the female lays up to 25 eggs that hatches after 200 - 230 days at 28 - 30*C. The juveniles are adorable. They are so pretty with there orange head and black body with creamwhite or yellow bands.
